Two connected projects we tell as one story — from Sandwerf's wild landscapes to the horses at the heart of Joseph's Dream Stud.
A holistic horse breeding and training center in the landscapes of Sandwerf Retreat, Namibia. Inspired by Chief Joseph's vision of harmony between all living beings, it treats horses as teachers — helping people reconnect with nature and themselves through horsemanship courses, retreats, and transformative experiences.
Sandwerf is an eco and equine estate in the Namibian bush — a regenerative farm, wellness retreat and home to Joseph's Dream Stud. Guided by sustainable living and a deep respect for the land, it offers guests space to slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience Namibia's wild beauty.

Sandwerf now offers a residential estate in Namibia where you can buy property and build your home, set in a Camel Thorn forest on the open African plains. We built this virtual tour so prospective buyers can see exactly how the estate and its surroundings look before they invest.
Every visit to Sandwerf and Joseph's Dream Stud leaves us in awe of the beauty of the landscape. Over the years, we have returned several times to produce social media content, website films, and a virtual 360° tour for their eco and equine estate. It is both a blessing and a challenge to film there, as every corner of the property is breathtaking, making it impossible to leave without terabytes of footage.
Annika and Leon have a clear vision of what they want to achieve. Through careful pre-production, detailed planning, and close collaboration, we have consistently been able to bring that vision to life while showcasing the unique atmosphere and character of this remarkable place.
We were searching long to find a team that would be capable of reading our own photographic language and produce a 100% atmospheric matchable videography product for our heart projects! With Pascal and Ricco we share passion, enjoy every minute of the work together and are astonished by their artistic talents, their feel for motion pictures, their understanding and appreciation for light as well as their technical knowledge and skills in their field. The communication with this team is natural and the work atmosphere joyful and relaxed. The results are professional, fine-tuned and individual; truly tailored to our personal product, visual language and feel.
Okonjima and AfriCat share the same protected wilderness — two names, one mission — so we tell their conservation story as one.
Okonjima Nature Reserve is a family-owned safari destination in central Namibia, where luxury hospitality and wildlife conservation go hand in hand. Once a cattle farm, it has evolved into a thriving private reserve renowned for its leopard conservation and the pioneering work of the AfriCat Foundation. Through immersive safari experiences, Okonjima invites guests to discover Namibia's remarkable wildlife while supporting the long-term protection of its natural heritage.
The AfriCat Foundation is a Namibian non-profit dedicated to the long-term conservation of the country's wildlife — in particular its predators and endangered species. Established in the early 1990s by the Hanssen family on their former cattle farm, now the Okonjima Nature Reserve, it combines long-term scientific research, ecological restoration and environmental education to help people and predators coexist across Namibia.

We have proudly collaborated with Okonjima and the AfriCat Foundation since 2024, creating visual content for their social media platforms and website. Home to one of Namibia's highest leopard densities, they play a vital role in the conservation and protection of endangered predators and other wildlife, and it is an honour to help share their mission.
Working at Okonjima is a dream for any wildlife photographer and filmmaker, but the experience goes far beyond capturing beautiful images. Every story we create carries the responsibility of inspiring appreciation for Namibia's wildlife and communicating the importance of conservation to audiences around the world. Knowing our work contributes, even in a small way, to protecting these extraordinary species makes every production truly meaningful.
Since 2024, Okmedia has been gathering photography and video footage across our lodges and AfriCat's conservation projects. They work with patience, precision, and a genuine enthusiasm for getting the story right. No request is too much. We're glad to have them as part of the Okonjima team.
